Why You Shouldn't Delete Pages for Better SEO Results

Many people will tell you that you should delete the page to help Google rank your site better.

I would like to share my views in this article.

Deleting a page should be clearly stated and separated into two cases.

1.Delete pages with low quality, thin content, and keyword spam pages.

This case, you should delete it, I totally agree. Pages with little content or the page that looks useless.

*Moreover, if you're using infinite scroll for the whole site, I recommend you go check it out. (Mobile Friendly Tools). Because Google might not see all of your content. And your content might be classified as thin content.

2.Delete high quality page.

Well, in this case, you have to think carefully.

Because if you go back and look at the original PageRank equation, you'll notice somethings.

In the pictures you will notice that

initial PageRank score of Homepage in the 2 pages system = 0.15 + 0.85(x)

initial PageRank score of Homepage in the 3 pages system = 0.15 + 1.7(x)

Summary: Homepage in 3 pages system has more PageRank score than Homepage in 2 pages system.

*This is not always correct. But It is correct in an environment where every page links back to the home page and backlink not be used in the calculation.

Although the actual equation looping until all the PageRank scores add up / the number of pages is equal to 1. You can try to calculate by yourself.

I think the idea of deleting a page is good but should speak clearly so that others can use it properly. This article is not meant to speak out to humiliate anyone who proposes a theory to delete a page to increase your ranking.

*Think carefully before deleting the page.
